Research-Based Programs: Enhancing Learning at Imagine Columbus Primary Academy
Curriculum programs are standards-based aligned to the Common Core Standards. To assist in teaching these standards, Imagine Columbus Primary Academy employs research-based programs including but not limited to: Amplify Desmos, Eureka Math Squared, Zearn, Amplify CKLA, Amplify ELA, Amplify Boost, and Star Renaissance (Freckle).
ICPA utilizes regionally developed common curriculum and pacing guides for all core subjects in all grade levels. These pacing guides were developed by Imagine teachers, administrators, coaches, and members of the National Education Team across several states. They assist in providing consistency and validity in individual teacher instruction as well as across grade levels.
Teachers submit weekly plans and participate in data meetings to ensure that each student is being taught at their level and instructional decisions are being based on mastery of standards. Should student performance exceed or fall below expectations, adjustments are made in teaching technique or placement of the child.
Students engage in routine benchmark testing, such as Star Early Literacy, Star Reading, Star Math in Grades K-8, Ohio State Testing in Grades 3-8, and Ohio English Language Proficiency Screeners when relevant according to student demographics.
The school employs curriculum and data specialists to collect and analyze student data and to train, evaluate, and manage teachers and report to the school leadership team on student progress.
